Apple Find My and Google’s Find Hub are global networks made up of millions of devices that detect your nearby lost items using Bluetooth. As soon as your tagged item pings of a nearby phone, its location will appear on the map in your app.
These two networks operate independently. The Apple Find My network works with iPhones, while Google’s Find Hub works with Android phones (e.g. Google Pixel, Samsung, or Xiaomi). Chipolo trackers are compatible with both networks, but not at the same time.
All location and identity data is fully encrypted. This means it stays completely private and anonymous – only you can see where your item is.

I can’t count how many times I’ve been halfway up a mountain trail and suddenly started panicking about where my keys were. Now, with one tap in the app, they immediately start jingling from one of the thousand pockets in my backpack.

Peace of mind when backpacking, know where my luggage is at all times!

We bought these before an international trip mainly for peace of mind. Lo and behold the airline lost two pieces of our luggage. With the trackers we were able to locate both bags; even the one they sent back to the states without telling us!
– Phil
Tested the tracker while we were on holiday – we were all able to find each other's items. Love my Chipolo!
– Karolina
We don't travel without these trackers! We place one in every suitcase and every backpack we take.

An item tracker is a small device that pairs with your phone via Bluetooth. Trackers (like Chipolo) tap into massive global finding networks, Apple’s Find My or Google’s Find Hub, allowing you to check the location of your items on the map. The location updates anytime a compatible phone passes near your item, making it possible to find your belongings almost anywhere in the world.
You can attach a tracker to your backpack, bag, keys, or put one in your suitcase, and find your items whether they’re far away or nearby. If you misplace your item somewhere nearby, you can simply ring it and find it with the help of Chipolo’s loud sound. If you leave an item behind, you’ll get an out-of-range notification, so you can turn back before it’s too late. You can even call your phone by double-pressing your Chipolo – even if it’s set to silent.
Yes. Simply put a Chipolo inside your bag and check its last known location in the app. If you use an iPhone, you’ll be able to see the location in the Find My app. If you use an Android phone, you’ll be able to see the location in the Find Hub app. The location will refresh automatically as soon as it pings off a nearby phone.
Yes. Chipolo works worldwide with the help of Apple’s Find My and Google’s Find Hub global networks. Chipolo trackers are universally compatible but only work with one network at a time – still, both networks are made up of millions of iPhones and Android phones, so if there are smartphones nearby, the location of your luggage will be updated regularly.
Yes. You’ll get a notification on your phone if you leave your item behind, so you can turn back before it’s too late. For iPhone users, this feature is automatically included in Apple Find My, while for Android users, Out of Range Alerts are available for free via the Chipolo app to compensate for this gap in the Find Hub network.
Yes. At 2.5 mm / 0.1 in, Chipolo CARD is designed to fit into your passport holder or wallet without adding bulk.
If your luggage is lost, check its last known location in the app and let staff know where it was last seen. You can also share a secure temporary location link with the airline to help recover your bag faster.
Your phone needs internet or cellular data to display the tracker's location on a map. However, the tracker itself relies entirely on Bluetooth to communicate with nearby devices. In real life, this means that you’ll be able to find your items nearby (since nearby searching relies solely on Bluetooth), but the map will only be updated once you have access to the internet.
You can find your item at any distance. If your item is nearby (within Bluetooth range), you can ring it and follow the sound to find it. POP has a Bluetooth range of 90 m, while LOOP and CARD can reach up to 120 m.
To find items that are further away (outside of Bluetooth range), check their last known location in the Apple Find My app (iPhones) or Google’s Find Hub app (Android phones).
Yes. You can pair multiple trackers with your phone, attach them to different items (keys, backpack, suitcase, etc.), and view their location simultaneously inside a single app. The location for each item will be updated in the same way as with one tracker – as soon as it pings off a nearby compatible device.
Yes. Chipolo devices are safe to use for both carry-on and checked bags and do not interfere with aircraft systems.
Fabric and plastic suitcases will not block the signal. However, aluminum suitcases, heavy metal foil, and RFID-blocking sleeves act as shields that will severely degrade or entirely kill the Bluetooth connection.
