Chipolo ONE

Chipolo ONE is the improved version of the Chipolo CLASSIC and PLUS key finders. ONE kept all the popular features of both previous Chipolo models and we upgraded it with a couple of new features to make finding misplaced keys even easier.

The accompanying Chipolo app also offers a few extra features, such as the Out of Range Alerts, a Share feature, a Selfie feature and empty battery warnings, all designed to help you find your misplaced items quickly.

Chipolo ONE tracking tag is perfect for keeping track of your personal items, such as your house keys, car keys and wallet.

Chipolo ONE Spot

Chipolo ONE Spot is a special edition tracking tag that is compatible exclusively with the Apple Find My app on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Mac devices.

In the Apple Find My app, Chipolo ONE Spot can show the location of your items on a map, play a sound to quickly find any paired items nearby and use Lost Mode if your items ever go missing. In Lost Mode other Find My users can help you look for your lost belongings and you can display a message and contact information to anyone who might find them.

Chipolo ONE Spot will help you locate not just misplaced but also lost personal items and is perfect for things that you use daily or those you don't necessarily keep on you all the time, like your bag, backpack, bike or luggage.

Features of the Chipolo ONE and Chipolo ONE Spot finders

Price

Both trackers fall into the mid-price range.

The Chipolo ONE Spot that works with the Apple Find My app is $28, while a single Chipolo ONE key finder costs $25.

Compatibility

The Chipolo ONE Spot works exclusively with the Find My app on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Mac devices and cannot be used in the Chipolo app or on Android devices.

The regular Chipolo ONE and CARD smart tags work with both Android and iOS devices that have Android 7 and up or iOS 12 and up installed.

Color

Presently, Chipolo ONE Spot is only available in one color – Almost Black, while the regular Chipolo ONE key finders are available in 6 different colors: black, white, blue, red, yellow and green.

Volume

The sound on both Spot and the regular Chipolo ONE goes up to 120dB, and you will have no problem hearing either from your jacket pocket, your bag or from another room.

Community search

While this feature is available in both Bluetooth trackers, the definite winner here is the Chipolo ONE Spot. It works with the Apple Find My network, made up of hundreds of millions of Apple devices around the world.

The Find My network provides an easy, secure way to locate your personal items and uses advanced encryption to ensure that no one else, not even Apple or Chipolo, can view the location of your Chipolo ONE Spot.

If a personal item connected to Chipolo ONE Spot ever gets lost, you can put your Chipolo ONE Spot in Lost Mode in the Apple Find My app and the entire network can help locate it.

Find phone feature

While Chipolo ONE Spot can help you find your lost items better than the regular Chipolo ONE, it can’t help you find your phone.

The find my phone feature, where you can use your smart tracker to ring your phone is only available with the regular Chipolo ONE and CARD that work with the Chipolo app.

If you misplaced your phone nearby, you can double press your Chipolo ONE and make your phone ring, even if it’s in silent mode.

Out of Range Alerts

Both the Chipolo ONE and the Chipolo ONE Spot will alert you if you forget to take your keys with you.

With the Chipolo ONE, the alerts are called Out of Range Alerts and they are activated by default in the Chipolo app as soon as you pair a Chipolo ONE key tracker to your phone.

With the Chipolo ONE Spot, which works exclusively with the Apple Find My app, the feature is called Notify when Left Behind. They are not active by default and you can enable them in the Find My app.

Share

With the sharing feature, you can share your smart tracker with other users through the app. By sharing you are creating your own little community that can help you find your misplaced items more easily (more phones the tracker can connect to!). This comes in especially handy with things you all use like the TV remote or your car keys.

Sharing is only possible with the Chipolo ONE through the Chipolo app. The Chipolo ONE Spot relies on the entire Apple Find My network to help you find your lost things, but is not shareable and other users can never see the location of your Chipolo ONE Spot.

Power source

Both finders use a standard coin CR2032 battery that you can buy in stores that also sell regular AA batteries.

The battery is replaceable on both trackers and the user can change the battery in 3 simple steps.

The battery on the Chipolo ONE will last up to 2 years, while it will last up to 1 year on the Chipolo ONE Spot.

Both Bluetooth tags also have a water resistance rating of IPX5.

Range

Both trackers use Bluetooth to connect to your phone, so their connection range is limited to a maximum of 200 feet (60 meters) outdoors, where there are no obstacles like walls.

App

The Chipolo ONE Spot works exclusively with the Apple Find My app.

It also requires an iPhone or iPod touch with iOS 14.3 or later, an iPad with iPadOS 14.3 or later, or a Mac with macOS Big Sur 11.1 or later.

The regular Chipolo ONE and CARD work with the Chipolo app on Android devices with Android 7 and up, and Apple devices with iOS 12 and up.
