Google’s location app Find My Device is now known as Find Hub. With the rebrand, Google also changed the visual elements, mainly the Works with Android badge.
The old badge (left) and the new badge (right) indicate that a product works with Google’s Find My Device, now known as Find Hub.
If you notice the old version of the badge on our products, don’t worry – they work with Find Hub, but implementing the new badges everywhere will take some time. The difference is purely visual and doesn’t affect functionality – you can locate your Chipolos (ONE Point, CARD Point, and POP) in the Find Hub app as before.
Beyond rebranding, Google also added some new finding capabilities to Find Hub.
Here’s what’s new
One place to keep tabs on everything
Google’s Find Hub is now a central space where users can find their devices, shared items, and personal belongings. Users are now able to share their location with their friends and family via the new People tab as well.
Satellite connectivity
Later this year, Find Hub will implement satellite connectivity. This means you’ll be able to locate your devices or people even in areas with poor cellular service.
Partnerships with airlines
Google is also actively working with select airlines to enable users to share the location of their Bluetooth tags – starting early next year, finding lost luggage will be faster for Android users, too.
