Since 2013, the heart, brains, and hands of Chipolo have lived in our hometown, Trbovlje, Slovenia – a small town with an industrial past and an innovative future. 

From product sketches to final assembly and customer support – it all happens under one roof. While we do source some specialized components and rare materials globally to ensure top-tier quality, everything else stays local.

Sustainably made

Finding your belongings shouldn't come at the cost of the planet. From responsibly sourced materials to cleaner production, we design our trackers to leave a lighter footprint, without compromising on quality or durability.

No forever chemicals

LOOP's silicone loop is free from PFAS, commonly known as forever chemicals.

50% recycled materials

POP is made from 50% recycled materials derived from recycled oils, while LOOP and CARD are made from 50% post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR).

33% smaller footprint

We’ve reduced the footprint of our trackers by a third compared to earlier generations, and we’re just getting started.

66% less waste

We re-engineered our production process to cut waste, keeping raw materials on the assembly line and out of landfills.

We design our trackers
for the long run

By prioritizing rechargeable and user-replaceable batteries and opting for recyclable and recycled materials, we ensure our products don’t become part of the problem. When their tracking days are over, the trackers can easily be disassembled and recycled.

From product to packaging

To bring things full circle, we look at the entire lifecycle of our products. We eliminate plastic from your unboxing experience by using 100% paper-only packaging printed with eco-friendly, mineral-oil-free inks.

Small town, big impact

Chipolo is based in Trbovlje, a small Slovenian town with a rich mining history and a heavy industrial soul. Our founders grew up here, and despite the challenges of having a global reach, staying local wasn't a difficult choice. It’s our way of giving back to the community that shaped us.

We owe our grit to the generations that came before us. Our parents and grandparents worked deep in the local mines and yet always found a way to bring some joy back to the surface. It’s that same defiance – which we locally call the matkurba* spirit – that drives us to build trackers that don’t quit.

*Matkurba: A common, multi-use local cuss word. To us, it represents a no-nonsense attitude and the resilience required to build something great against all odds.
