Chipolo Point delay and Google Find My Device app status

We understand that some of you have been eagerly awaiting your Point trackers for a while now and we're thrilled to say that the moment we've been waiting for is finally here!

Google has just publicly announced the rollout schedule for the Find My Device app and unwanted tracking protection.

As a result, we will begin shipping out Chipolo Point preorders on May 27th, 2024 in the order in which they were placed.

• Preorders made before July 27th, 2023, will start shipping on May 27th and will be shipped out over a 2-week period.

• Preorders made on or after July 27th, 2023, will start shipping around June 10th and will be shipped out over a 4-week period.

The latest update from Google, April 8th, 2024:

"Starting in May, you’ll be able to locate everyday items like your keys, wallet or luggage with Bluetooth tracker tags from Chipolo [...]"

Previous update from Chipolo, December 22nd, 2023:

“The joint unwanted tracker alert specification by Google and Apple was published on December 22. We are now waiting for an update about the timeline for the implementation of the protections against unwanted tracking for iOS.

After that, we can expect Google’s new timeline for rolling out the Find My Device app update which is necessary for Point products to work.

In the meantime, we are hard at work updating Point firmware to match the new specs.”


Previous update from Google, July 27th, 2023:

“We are working in partnership with Apple to help finalize the joint unwanted tracker alert specification by the end of this year. At this time we’ve made the decision to hold the rollout of the Find My Device network until Apple has implemented protections for iOS.”
