How many potatoes does it take to power a Chipolo?

Expected read time: 1 min

When it comes to brainstorming and wild ideas, we’re here for you.

Making the Chipolo more sustainable is always on the table, and our innovative hardware team never disappoints. Our CTO remembered the trick with the potato batteries from kindergarten and wanted to test an interesting idea – could we make a Chipolo run on potatoes? It was a joke at first, but the team picked it up, and soon we were calculating how many potatoes it would take to power a Chipolo.

It’s 5, in case you were wondering.

Our inner child won’t let us give it up, so now the hardware team is working on a prototype too…

Disclaimer: We won’t move into production until the potato becomes a desired fashion accessory, dangling from your keys.
