Turning your life around so that it becomes stress-free is not really an option, nor is it something we should be trying for– sometimes a little bit of stress can be a good thing, challenging us in our work and pushing us to do better than we did the last time. To help you maintain a healthy balance between challenging yourself and keeping a cool head, here are a few suggestions that will only take a minute, but could make a world of difference.
To help you maintain a healthy balance between challenging yourself and keeping a cool head, here are a few suggestions that will only take a minute, but could make a world of difference.
Go to bed a few minutes earlier. It’s been said over and over again, but we don’t mind repeating it – a good night’s sleep will provide you with some much-needed extra energy, to help you cope with your daily tasks.
Don’t sweat the small stuff. Being stressed out will make you overreact to anything. Take a moment and step back to re-evaluate how much of a problem a situation really is. It might turn out to be nothing, or at the very least you'll find a nice solution that wasn't obvious a few minutes ago.
Do things one at a time. This might not always be possible, especially when working as a team, but at the end of the day, we promise you’ll find you completed more tasks than you would multitasking.
Get moving. When taking care of your mind, don't forget about your body. So do something every day that will leave you short of breath. No time for sports activities? Take the stairs, walk to your appointments, or just take a few minutes and dance to your favorite song. Instant smile guaranteed!
Adopt one healthy eating habit. Adjusting your entire diet to a healthy one would be awesome, but let’s be realistic, it’s not something you can keep up for longer periods of time. Start small and substitute breakfast pastry with whole grain products, make sure each meal has some green veggies in it, give up sugary drinks in the afternoon… Something you’ll be able to include in your daily meals with ease.
Stop worrying for 10 minutes. We sometimes forget to focus on what’s most important – ourselves. So give yourself 10 minutes where you’re not responsible for anything other than being comfortable and relaxed. It’ll all still be there when the 10 minutes are up, but you will most likely be able to handle at least some of it better.
There's one more thing that would help - a Chipolo. In your hectic every day, you misplace things all the time. Instead of searching for them over and over again, break the cycle and put a Chipolo on them. Next time, just grab your phone and make them ring. And it works both ways, so no more searching for your phone either!
